There’s a pleasing symmetry about Chorda's 2 spells with Nice. The first, from 1957 to 1962, resulted in 132 league appearances, and he achieved the exact same appearance tally in his second spell, from 1970 to 1974. If only he hadn't scored against Sedan in April 1973, otherwise his goal tally for both spells would be the same - 2 goals. Nice achieved a creditable 2nd place finish that season, which was the highlight of his second spell, but on balance he would have preferred his first spell, seeing as it featured Ligue Un title success in 1959, which is the last time they were champions. He spent 7 years with Bordeaux, sandwiched in between the 2 stints with Nice, racking up over 200 league appearances. He won 24 caps for France, and was selected for the 1966 World Cup, without appearing on the pitch during the tournament.
