Phil Neal - 285.33 Performance Pts

Born: 20/02/1951    Irchester, England

Position: Full Back     Height: 1.80m    Weight: 77kg

A consistent full-back for Liverpool and England throughout the 70s and 80s, and an expert penalty taker. Signed from Northampton Town in 1974, he made over 450 appearances for Liverpool and also won 50 England caps. He featured prominently in the Graham Taylor 'Do I not like that?' documentary, when he was England Assistant Manager. His main contribution seemed to be to say 'Yes boss' at whatever Taylor said, which made him the subject of ridicule. He achieved some managerial success at Bolton Wanderers, who he joined (initially as a player-manager) after leaving Anfield - winning promotion in 1988. He won 8 League titles with Liverpool, and a record 4 European Cups. He also scored in the first one (in 1977, from a penalty) and the last one (in 1984, from open play).
