Although Wiltord isn't as lauded as some of his contemporaries for Arsenal and/or France (e.g. Vieira, Henry, Zidane, etc.), he still played a key role in some of their successes at the turn of the century. He featured in 2 iconic moments; for France, scoring the equaliser seconds from time in the Euro 2000 final against Italy, which France won with an extra-time Golden Goal, and for Arsenal, scoring the winner at Old Trafford in the 1-0 victory against Manchester United that secured the 2002 title. He picked up another Premier League winners medal with Arsenal in 2004. He'd already achieved success prior to joining the Gunners. He started out at Rennes, and signed for Bordeaux in 1997, and went on to win the Ligue Un title in 1999. He returned to France in 2004 after his 4-year spell in London, and carried on the winning habit, winning 3 consecutive Ligue Un titles with Lyon. He re-joined Rennes in 2007 and also played for Marseille, Metz and Nantes before retiring in 2012. He appeared 92 times for France; he also scored the opening penalty in the shoot-out defeat to Italy in the 2006 World Cup Final.
