Olivier Giroud - 283.93 Performance Pts
Born: 30/09/1986 Chambery, France
Position: Forward Height: 1.93m Weight: 92kg
Considering the many talented players to have represented
Les Bleus, it may come as a surprise to some people that Giroud is the record
international goalscorer for France, with 57. One of those goals put paid to
England’s hopes in the 2022 World Cup, as France ran out 2-1 winners in the
quarter-final. Although he didn’t score during the 2018 tournament, he played
in every match as France were crowned World Champions. He’s also been a league
champion at club level, winning Ligue Un with Montpellier in 2012, and Serie A
with Milan ten years later. Sandwiched in between these successes, Giroud spent
nine years in the Premier League, firstly with Arsenal, before moving on to
their London rivals Chelsea. 4 FA Cup winner’s medals (3 with Arsenal, 1 with
Chelsea) was a decent return from his time in England, and he was also part of
the Chelsea squad that won the 2021 Champions League, although he was on the
bench for the final victory over Manchester City. The Blues also won the 2019
Europa League, following a 4-1 win, ironically against Arsenal, with Giroud
scoring the opening goal. He announced his international retirement after Euro
2024, and moved on from Milan after a 3-year spell, joining Los Angeles FC.
