Soler was a left sided player who won a few caps for Spain, and had a 20-year career, representing 7 La Liga sides. He started in Catalonia, firstly with Espanol, then moving on to Barcelona after 5 years. He won his first league title at the Camp Nou in 1991, before moving to Atletico Madrid for a season. Although he picked up another La Liga title in 1993, following his return to Barca, he featured only sporadically that season. Over the next few years he moved around Spain quite a bit, playing for Sevilla, Real Madrid and Zaragoza for brief spells, before joining Real Mallorca in 1998, where he remained for the rest of his career. He retired in 2003 having clocked up over 500 La Liga appearances. He also has the unique distinction of being the only player to have represented both main Catalan clubs (Espanol and Barcelona) and both main Madrid sides (Atletico and Real).
