1956 was a great year for Orue, a loyal servant of Athletic Bilbao. On New Year's Day, he scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Alaves. Bilbao went on to claim the title a few months later, finishing one point ahead of Barcelona. They also retained the Copa del Rey that same season - a truly glorious year. This league title proved to be the only one of Orue's 18-year career; also, the vital goal against Alaves turned out to be the only time he was ever on the scoresheet. Apart from a brief loan spell with Barakaldo, he spent his entire career with Athletic Bilbao, clocking up almost 400 league appearances before retiring in 1968. He also played 3 times for Spain.
