Norwegian
full-back Riise was renowned for having a powerful left foot, and regularly
scored from free-kicks. He's also well-known for being on the receiving end of
a golf-club based attack from Craig Bellamy in 2007, his team-mate at Liverpool
at the time. Riise also played in the Premier League with Fulham, linking up
with his brother Bjorn Helge, and had a 3-year stint with Roma in Serie A
sandwiched between his spells at Anfield and Craven Cottage. He'd also spent 3
years with Monaco, winning the Ligue Un title in 2000, prior to his arrival in
England. This proved to be his only league title success in his career,
although he was a runner up with Liverpool (in 2002) and Roma (in 2010), and he
was part of the famous Liverpool Champions League winning side in 2005. After
leaving Fulham in 2014 following relegation, he played in Cyprus, India and
back in Norway with his first club, Aalesund. A 13-year international
career led to 110 caps for Norway - a national record.
