Good things come to those who wait. Having started out with lower-league side Sorrento, Bruscolotti first turned out for Napoli during the 1972-73 season. At the end of his 15th season with the club, he was able to celebrate Serie A title success as a Maradona-inspired Napoli won their first ever Scudetto. The Argentinian star was obviously the catalyst for this successful title campaign, but a solid defence, marshalled by Bruscolotti, certainly contributed - just 21 goals were conceded that season. He retired the following season, with 387 league appearances to his name - this was a club record until it was overtaken by Marek Hamsik in 2018. Bruscolotti was renowned as a strong player with excellent man-marking ability.
