Stankovic
played for 15 seasons in Serie A, firstly with Lazio, who he joined in 1998
from Red Star Belgrade. His first 3 seasons there yielded 3 successive top 3
finishes, including the 2000 Scudetto; they secured the Coppa Italia that same
season, to secure the double, and also picked up the 1999 Cup Winners' Cup -
all under the management of Sven-Goran Eriksson. His 2004 move to Inter led to
even more success - 5 Serie A titles in a row (2006-2010) was topped off by the
2010 Champions League victory. He also played for 15 years with Serbia
(although they were Yugoslavia, and Serbia & Montenegro, at various stage
of his international career). His 103 caps total is a national record. He's managed
various clubs including home team Red Star Belgrade and is currently manager
back at Sparta Moscow.
