Didier Sénac - 267.87 Performance Pts
Born: 02/10/1958 Saint-Denis, France
Position: Central Defender Height: 1.85m Weight: 80kg
1984 was a
great year for French football. Not only were they crowned European champions, but
they also won the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, with Senac
part of the victorious squad. At club level, Senac played for 2 sides, Lens and
Bordeaux. He made his debut in 1978, during Lens' relegation season - though he
only appeared once that season. Bordeaux achieved great things during the
1980s, winning 3 titles, including the double in 1987, but Senac joined them too
late to be part of their successes, signing during the 1987-88 season. This was
a strange season for Senac; he'd played for Lens earlier in the season, and
they ended up escaping relegation by a single point. He'd swapped a relegation
battle for a title challenge, as Bordeaux sought to retain their title,
eventually finishing 2nd. They achieved another runners-up finish in 1990, but
Senac retired in 1995 without a league title to his name. He can gain
consolation from his Olympic gold medal however, and also from his 3
international caps.
