Cristobal
started out with Barcelona, debuting in 1987; he failed to establish himself in
the first team so was sent out on loan to Oviedo, before joining Logrones
permanently. He came back to the Camp Nou but still struggled to break through,
and went back to Oviedo, this time permanently, after just one season. 1991-92
wasn't a bad season to be at the Camp Nou though, as Barcelona won La Liga,
followed by their first ever European Cup. After his 3 years back at Oviedo,
Cristobal moved to Espanol, and spent the longest period of his career there -
6 seasons. The highlight of this spell was the Copa del Rey victory in 2000. He
finished off his career with 2 seasons in France, with Paris Saint-Germain, He
retired in 2003 with over 500 top-flight appearances to his name, plus 6 caps
for Spain. His managerial career hasn't been particularly successful; He is
currently manager at Ferrol following an unsuccessful spell in charge of Racing
Santander.
