Guti - 266.81 Performance Pts
Born: 31/10/1976 Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain
Position: Midfielder Height: 1.81m Weight: 76kg
Guti was
more of a 'supporting actor' rather than leading man during a successful career
with Real Madrid. Numerous 'Galactico' team-mates (Zidane, Figo, Raul, etc.)
appreciated his contributions. He debuted in 1995 and made over 500 appearances
over the following 15 years. 5 La Liga titles are on his CV, and he contributed
14 goals during the successful 2001 campaign. Real's 32-year wait for European
Cup / Champions League success was ended during Guti's time (in 1998), and they
also won it twice more during this era (in 2000 and 2002); however, Guti didn't
appear on the pitch in any of the finals. He spent one final season with
Besiktas before calling time on his career in 2011. He won 13 caps for Spain but
never established himself as first choice and didn't appear in any tournament
final stages. He went into coaching since retirement, taking on roles at both
his former clubs. He then became head coach at Almeria for a short period of
time.
