Eraldo Pecci - 266.45 Performance Pts
Born: 12/04/1955 San Giovanni In Marignano, Italy
Position: Midfielder Height: 1.72m Weight: 77kg
Pecci
played over 100 league games for 3 Italian sides - Bologna (in 2 spells),
Torino and Fiorentina. He got off to a great start to his career, winning the
Coppa Italia with Bologna in 1974, his first season, converting what proved to
be the decisive penalty in the shoot-out victory against Palermo. 2 years later
he was a Serie A champion, with Torino. These turned out to be the only
trophies he picked up during his career, despite one or two near misses. Torino
came 2nd the year after their title triumph, also finishing in 3rd place during
Pecci's time there in 1978 and 1980. Even more agonising were the 2 successive
Coppa Italia final defeats in 1980 and 1981, with Torino twice losing out to
Roma on penalties, with Pecci missing from the spot in both shoot-outs. Pecci
joined Fiorentina for the 1981-82 season; they finished 2nd to Juventus that
year. Both league games between the sides finished 0-0 that season; had
Fiorentina converted one of those draws into a win, they would have lifted the
title instead. Pecci spent a single season with Napoli (1985-86), before
returning to Bologna, then in Serie B. He helped Bologna end their 6-year exile
from Serie A with promotion in 1988, and he retired 2 years later. He picked up
6 caps for Italy, all during his time with Torino.
