Frank Rost - 265.62 Performance Pts

Position: Goalkeeper Height: 1.94m Weight: 90kg
Goalkeeper
Rost represented 3 major Bundesliga sides with distinction, and also 4 times
for the German national side. He took a while to establish himself as first
choice at Werder Bremen, but did go on to achieve success there. He saved and
scored a penalty in the shoot-out victory to decide the 1999 German Cup against
Bayern Munich. He got quite used to this goalscoring lark, netting in a 4-3
victory over Hansa Rostock in 2002, his final year in Bremen. His next club was
Schalke, where he achieved 2 runners-up finishes, in 2005 and 2007; he didn't
feature as much in this second campaign, which turned out to be his final one
with Schalke. Some kid called Manuel Neuer was starting to break through, so
Rost moved on to Hamburg. He spent 4 seasons there before a stint in the US,
with New York Red Bulls, prior to his retirement. Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehmann
were contemporaries of Rost, which partly explains his paltry international appearance
total, but he was highly regarded at all his clubs.
