Michael Lameck - 265.38 Performance Pts
Born: 15/09/1949 Essen, Germany
Position: Full Back Height: 1.74m Weight: 76kg
A German
journeyman, Mr Mid-Table - that was Lameck. 16 Bundesliga seasons with Bochum
resulted in a highest league finish of 8th in 1979, and a lowest finish of
15th, in 1977 and 1984. He even managed to avoid Bochum's finest hour - an
appearance in the German cup final in 1988 when Bochum lost to Eintracht
Frankfurt. He had appeared in some of the earlier rounds, including the
semi-final, but was no longer first choice in this, his final season. Prior to
this, he rarely missed a game, being ever-present in 11 of the previous 15
seasons, missing just a single game in 2 other campaigns. His 518 Bundesliga
appearances is understandably a club record and is also the most league
appearances by an uncapped player. He was a player-coach in the lower leagues
for a couple of seasons after finishing his Bundesliga career.
