Alberico Evani - 262.13 Performance Pts
Born: 01/01/1963 Massa, Italy
Position: Midfielder Height: 1.74m Weight: 63kg
Evani
started his club career with Milan, debuting in 1981, and spent the bulk of his
career there. It didn't start that well - Milan suffered relegation in 1982.
However, this eventually became a period of great success domestically (Evani
won 3 Serie A titles during this time) and on the European stage, winning
successive European Cups, in 1989 and 1990. Evani was on the bench in 1989, so
had a decent view as Gullit and Van Basten ran the show against Steaua
Bucharest and was on the pitch for the victory against Benfica the following
year. He joined Sampdoria in 1993, spending 4 seasons there before finishing
his career in the lower divisions. Evani appeared 15 times for the Azzurri; his
most notable contribution was at the 1994 World Cup. He came on as a substitute
in extra-time in the final against Brazil, and converted his spot-kick in the
shoot-out, but Brazil ultimately triumphed. Since retirement he's been involved
with coaching various national Italian age-group sides, most recently the
Under-21s and has also more recently been the assistant manager to the full
Italian side.
