Morata is one of those strikers who don’t tend to receive
widespread acclaim, despite having impressive goalscoring records. A decade of
service at international level has included starring roles at Euro 2021 and
Euro 2024, the latter as Spain’s trophy-winning captain. His lack of recognition
can be partly attributed to an indifferent spell with Chelsea, and he’s not the
only player to suffer such a fate. More productive spells with Real Madrid (2
La Liga titles) and Juventus (2 Serie A titles) give a stronger indication of
his pedigree. He’s also spent time in the Spanish capital with Atletico Madrid.
Not content with scoring goals and winning medals, he has also invested in a
chain of bakeries.
