Jérémy Toulalan - 259.69 Performance Pts
Born: 10/09/1983 Nantes, France
Position: Midfielder Height: 1.83m Weight: 77kg
Not quite as highly regarded as Makelele himself, but a fine exponent of the Makelele role. Toulalan started out in his hometown, with Nantes. In October 2004, he scored a last-minute goal against Strasbourg, to seal a 2-0 win; Nantes stayed up by a single point that season. Looking up at the other end of the league standings, Toulalan would have seen Lyon winning the title by 12 clear points, and maybe thought 'I'd like a piece of that'. His wish was granted, signing for Lyon in 2006 and winning 2 successive Ligue Un titles. He moved to Spain with Malaga in 2011, and was, relatively speaking, a goal machine in his first season, with an impressive haul of 3. He returned to Ligue Un in 2013 with Monaco. In February 2014, nearly 10 years after his previous Ligue Un goal for Nantes, he finally scored again for Monaco, against Stade Reims. He spent a couple of seasons with Bordeaux before retiring in 2018. His league goal tally for Bordeaux was the same as it was for Lyon - zero. At international level he appeared 36 times, scoring (quelle surprise) no goals. He appeared at Euro 2008, and at the 2010 World Cup - both tournaments ended in early elimination for France at the group stage.
