Manuel Pazos - 258.78 Performance Pts
Born: 17/03/1930 Cambados, Spain Died: 24/05/2019 Elche, Spain
Position: Goalkeeper Height: 1.83m Weight: 77kg
Pazos
spent the bulk of his career with 2 clubs, Atletico Madrid and Elche, spending
7 seasons with each. Prior to these longer stints, he'd also played for Celta
Vigo, Real Madrid and Hercules, and managed to sneak in La Liga success with
Real in his only season there, 1953-54. This was the only time he reached the
league summit during his career, although Atletico came close in 1958 and 1961,
coming in 2nd place both times. Atletico were also Copa del Rey winners in 1960
and 1961, but Pazos was no longer first choice keeper by this time and didn't
play in either final. A similar fate befell him later in his career. Pazos
signed for Elche in 1962, and they reached the Copa del Rey final in 1969. This
was his final year as a professional, and once again he was no longer first
choice, so didn't play as Elche were beaten 1-0 by Athletic Bilbao.
