Luis Enrique is one of the players who represented both Real Madrid and Barcelona. He's not regarded with similar affection by both sets of fans, like Michael Laudrup, but his move from Real to Barca in 1996 didn't cause the antagonism that Luis Figo's later transfer between the clubs did. Although he spent 5 seasons at the Bernabeu, joining from first club Sporting Gijon in 1991 and winning La Liga in 1995, he felt more at home at the Nou Camp. 2 more league titles with Barcelona followed, in 1998 and 1999. Having gone on to manage Barca, his loyalties are most definitely on the red and blue side of the Clasico divide. Luis Enrique was a versatile player, capable of providing a goal threat. He won 62 caps for Spain, appearing in 3 successive World Cups (1994, 1998 and 2002). He was on the receiving end of an elbow from Italy's Mauro Tassotti in Spain's 2-1 quarter-final defeat in the 1994 tournament. His coaching career began with the Barcelona B team, and, following spells with Celta Vigo and Roma, he returned to take charge of the Barcelona first team in 2014. They secured a treble in 2015, after defeating Juventus in the Champions League final, and retained La Liga the following year. He took charge of the Spanish national side in 2018 but had to take an enforced sabbatical the following year, for tragic reasons, owing to the illness and subsequent death of his daughter. He returned to the role of national team manager and is now the coach of Paris St Germain
