Steve McMahon - 257.17 Performance Pts
Born: 20/08/1961 Liverpool, England
Position: Midfielder Height: 1.70m Weight: 68kg
After spells early in his career with Everton and Aston
Villa, McMahon achieved most of his success during his 6 seasons at Liverpool,
including the Double in his first full season. The title winning side of 1988
was arguably the peak; it featured an outstanding team performance in the 5-0
win against Nottingham Forest with McMahon pulling the strings in midfield.
International recognition was inevitable and deserved, but he never hit the
heights for England as he had at club level. He gave the ball away to Kevin
Sheedy which led to Ireland's equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Italia 90. He joined
Manchester City in 1991 before ending his playing days at Swindon Town. At his
best he was renowned for his passing, and tough tackling. He later achieved
managerial success, winning promotion with Swindon and Blackpool.
