Although
they were in the shadow of their great rivals Real Madrid during the 1950s,
these weren't exactly desperate times for Barcelona. Segarra appeared for Barca
throughout the decade, helping them to 4 La Liga successes in 1952, 1953, 1959
and 1960. Those last 2 titles will have softened the blow somewhat of seeing
Real lift the European Cup in those years. Barca were serial Copa del Rey
winners during this period as well, with Segarra collecting 6 winners medals
during his career. This included 3 double-winning seasons - 1952, 1953 and
1959; by the time of this last success, Segarra had established himself as club
captain. He made 299 La Liga appearances, also winning 25 caps for Spain,
during a 15-year career - finally calling it a day in 1964.
