Tony Cottee - 254.40 Performance Pts
Born: 11/07/1965 West Ham, England
Position: Forward Height: 1.75m Weight: 78kg
Cottee broke into the West Ham first team in 1983 and scored
on his debut against Spurs aged 17. He also impressed on his debut for Everton,
having joined them in 1988, scoring a hat trick against Newcastle. However,
Everton were not the force they had been in previous recent years and were
usually in mid-table whilst Cottee was there, despite his decent scoring
record. After his second spell at West Ham ended in 1996, his career appeared
to be on the decline. However, he enjoyed a renaissance with Leicester, forming
a successful strike partnership with Emile Heskey, and winning the League Cup
in 2000. He ended up scoring over 200 top-flight career goals. He achieved the
distinction of playing in all four divisions during the same season (2000-01).
His managerial career was short-lived and unsuccessful, leading Barnet to
relegation in 2001, although he had resigned before relegation had been
confirmed.
